VATFACS

Welcome to the Virginia Association for Teachers of Family and Consumer Sciences (VATFACS) web site.  We are an organization dedicated to promoting Family and Consumer Sciences in Virginia public schools to improve the lives of our students, their families and our communities.

Our mission is to...

•  Collaborate with Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) to provide professional development opportunities for our members and all FACS teachers in Virginia.
•  Provide opportunity for an exchange of ideas and materials as well as a sharing of experience and expectations for FACS teachers in Virginia.
•  Support the purposes of the Virginia Association of Career and Technical Education.

Members of VATFACS benefit in their profession through:

•  Professional Development Institute at our summer conference
•  Recognition through Awards
•  Scholarships for teachers and students
•  VACTE membership provides CTE representation in legislative matters
